Deacon Edgar Gonzalez
I am married to Christine M. Gonzalez now for 37 years, we have three children, Eddie Jr., Jacqlynn Marie Hendrickson, Jessica Lynn Gonzalez, two grandchildren Brody and Mary. I am a native, born and raised in Lorain, graduated from Southview High School, attended Ohio State University, Borromeo Seminary where I received my clergy education. I have been a full-time employee at PPG in Cleveland, Ohio where I am a Technical Supervisor for the SPS group going on my 25th years. I enjoy NASCAR racing, Cleveland Indians baseball, travel, spending time with my kids and their kids, have a passion for cars and at one time recently in my life I drag raced a motorcycle for fun. I use to custom paint cars and bikes and use to own a show car.
My transformation or metanoia moment is due to the Cursillo movement which I made in on September 19, 1991 and my life was forever changed. I have been involved with Cursillo going on 26 years now. I have been blessed to be called to be Spiritual Advisor for the group along with my Deacon brother John Rivera. Ministry is my first love now and I am proud to be able to serve God and His people in the fashion I have been called, even knowing that I am not worthy as broken and imperfect as I am. What keeps me moving is that even though I may feel this way the reality is who am I, to question whom God has called. As such I will humbly serve Him wherever and whenever He calls.
I love our church St. Vincent de Paul and feel blessed to be called to minister here. I am at your service so when you need me do not hesitate to call, this is what I have been called to do.
